Myself

Life is a song ... sing it. Life is a game ... play it. Life is a challenge ... meet it. Life is a dream ... realize it. Life is a sacrifice ... offer it. Life is love ... enjoy it. ~ Sai Baba ~

I'm the type girl who strives to be happy, taking the good with the bad and always trying to find new ways to challenge myself. I have realized over the last few years how blessed I have been so far in my life; from amazing supportive friends and family, to my own home and career goals. I try to focus on what I have achieved instead of what I'm missing in my life.
I have also accepted that I'm truly fine being single for now and just because I'm alone does not mean I'm lonely.
I'm a little shy but quite sociable once I'm comfortable, I wear my heart on my sleeve but I'm not jaded. I've learned a lot about myself these last few years, from what I felt I needed in my life to what truly matters at the end of the day, my own happiness.

I have a fairly vivid imagination, I have been guilty of having my head up in the clouds from time to time, but once I have my feet securely back on the ground I'm focused and back in pursuit of my goals.
I enjoy drawing, painting and sculpting. I initially moved to Ottawa to pursue a career in animation, I always dreamed of seeing my name flash by on a big Disney production. Sadly that dream never came to fruition and pursued numerous different careers within the public and private sectors. I'm still trying to discover what I truly want to do with my life, but I'm greatful for all the experiences I've had so far.
I still express myself artistically, I also consider myself an amateur photographer. I can be found exploring abandoned houses or wooded areas for a great shot.
I have two amazing pets; a hyper active smart ass of dog named Trinity and a cat who thinks he is dog, his name is Nova.
I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and not easily offended; I can dish out my own sarcastic humour :)

The Artist
It is difficult for me to really explain why I love to do what I do. Art has always been a creative escape for me, ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil, I would just doodle. Sometimes as a means to entertain myself and other times just for the sake of having that freedom to just express myself without limitation.

Despite all the struggles of growing up , I always had my creative ability as an outlet. In school my favorite subjects were Art and History. My parents enrolled me in oil painting classes, pottery and even dance (despite my objection).

In my early years my art always tended to lean towards cartoon characters, Disney in particular. After visiting the Walt Disney Animation Studio in Orlando Florida, I knew what I wanted to strive for...to be an animator.

When I moved to Calgary as a teenager I enrolled myself in advanced Art classes, began to be exposed to the classics; Salvidor Dali, Van Gogh, the Expressionists and life drawing in particular. Though my passion for animation never dwindled, I knew there was far more out there then just comics and toons.

After graduation I attended The Ottawa school of Art, where I took life drawing courses, expressive painting and sketching. This where I bridged over into Pre animation and soon found out Animation was not for me. Disappointment lead the way to other doorways and passions.

I obtained a Bachelors of Arts in History and Anthropology at the University of Ottawa.

Though my profession may not be as a professional animator, my love for art has always remained.

My biggest influences are:

Robert Bateman

Susan Seddon Boulet
